What better gift for an outgoing chairman than a chair?
But this is no ordinary lounger.
It comes with not one but three specially made-cushions.
According to the creative minds at Temasek Polytechnic School of Design who designed them, these cushions embody my creative legacy.
I’m deeply honoured for the effort and thought that went into it.
I shall cherish this memento, along with the 23 wonderful years I spent as a member of your esteemed Advisory Committee.
My fellow committee members whose contribution deserves my utmost respect.
Thanks for the memories; now, I gladly take a back seat.

Nine years flew by in the blink of an eye, yet never a moment was wasted.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the members of the Temasek Polytechnic Board of Governors, especially Chairman Loke Wai San, Principal and CEO Peter Lam, Director of the School of Design Elaine Ho, and Senior Director and Registrar Albert Yeo, for the sumptuous lunch and the beautifully crafted work of art.
